5 minutes. Run an experiment on your own mind.
You're about to experience the shift from grind mode to experiment mode. This isn't reading about RAYGUNβit's doing it.
Think of something you're avoiding right now. Something that feels heavy, burdensome, like an obstacle.
Notice how you're thinking about this. Does it feel like:
We're going to interrupt that pattern. For 15 seconds, just breathe.
Breathe in...
Right now, drop the story about the task. Don't think about why it's hard or what it means.
Just notice: What is the ACTUAL constraint? The real problem you're facing?
Can you treat this constraint as a puzzle? Just for 10 minutes?
What's the smallest experiment that would touch this constraint? What could you test in 10 minutes?
That's experimenter mode. Feel the difference?
That's okay. You might be too depleted to experiment right now.
Try this: Either rest (if you need energy), or grind on a timer (if it's truly boring but necessary).
Not everything is experimentable when you're at 0% energy.
Did you notice a shift? Even small?
That shift from grind to experiment. You just did it.
You moved from heaviness to curiosity. That's the whole operating system.
Sometimes the shift is so small you almost miss it.
The skill strengthens with practice. You're learning to catch the shift earlier.
RAYGUN didn't work this time. That's data, not failure.
You troubleshooting this problem? That's experimenting. You're already using RAYGUN.
